Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquers

Howdy!

These are really good lip products, I really enjoy wearing them, because of the colour pay off, the feeling it leaves your lips and worrying about it rubbing off and leaving an awkward line around your mouth. These retail for 5.99 and you can find them in Superdrug and Boots.

I think the packaging is really nice, i love the extra detailing at the top resembling rocks and apocaliptic occurences, and also how the actual colour of the lip procut is shown at the bottom and as you open the lid there is a gap so you can see the actual colour. There are eight shades of this ranging from a light nude to a deep purple, and has a pretty peach, a few perfect pinks and a few bold reds. I think the range is great for people who want bright lips, but I personally, on a day to day basis like something more simple so the colour range isn't amazing for me.

Left: 101 Celestial
Right: 500 Luna

These lip laquers are basically a mix between a lipstick and a lipgloss, they have the opacity of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss, they're very unique and different to what you would normally find in a drugstore. I own two of these firstly, 101 Celestial, Celestial is a mauvey pink, lip coloured shade and suits lots of skin tones, I like this shade alot and really enjoy the finished look. The other one I own is 500 Luna, this is a very peachy orange shade and I do not own anything like this, it isn't as opaque as Celestial but, it can be. It is very bright and perfect for Spring and Summer.

They have a nice applicator and it helps to apply it evenly all over the lips and also is easier to get it around your lips and not anywhere else, e.g, your nose;) But, they do have a very distinctive smell,I am not the biggest fan of the smell but i do not mind it, they smell very plasticy, so if you are sensitive to smells in lip products this may not be the best choice, but the smell is not very noticeable on the lips at all.

I hope you enjoyed this review, tell me your thoiughts and opinions  for the RImmel London Apocalips Lip Laquers, and any prodcuts you would like me to review!

Howdy!
I know that the drugstore makeup tag has been and gone, but I missed my chance to do it. Better late than never! ;)

1. What is your favourite drugstore brand?
Either Rimmel or Collection, I think they're both amazing and both really affordable with such good quality products.

2. Favourite face, cheek and lip product?
Face: Collection ultimate wear lasting perfection concealer (a review coming soon) this covers anything effortlessly, it's a heavy duty concealer meaning it is good for covering redness, dark circles,  blemishes, but can crease if not powdered effectively, but I love it.
Cheek: Maybelline New York expert wear blush in 77 rose, this is the perfect natural, shimmery, everyday blush, that blends with any skin tone and looks totally natural and beautiful.

Lip: this may not come as a surprise to you, but my favourite lip product is Collection Cream Puff moisturising lip creams. These are perfect, I won't go in to too much detail as I have already written a blog post all about how amazing they are. But they are light, beautiful, and smell amazing. Plus they
 are only £2.99.

3. What is your least favourite drugstore product?
My least favourite drugstore product is MaxFactor Max Effect Gloss Cube, this is
one of the worst lip glosses I have ever used, the colour looks beautiful in the packaging, but once you put it on it resembles a clear gloss, it's very sticky, and smells very funky. This was definitely the most appealing colour in the shop, but I was very disappointed.

4. What is your best drugstore bargain?
I have so many of these it was hard to choose, but I decided to go with my MUA Multi use palette,
this palette is amazing and for six pounds, it's an amazing price, six eyeshadows, two blushes, a bronzer and a highlight that are of amazing quality for the most part at such a reasonable price is fantastic.

5. What is your favourite underdog product?
My underdog product is definitely the Collection Cream Puff Lip Creams. I couldn't resist
mentioning them again, but they are amazing. And not enough people talk about them, they have amazing colour, great pigmentation and smell good, plus they're cheap as chips.

6. What is an overpriced product from the drugstore?
Now, although I do love this I think it is ridiculously overpriced. The Revlon colour burst Lip Butters, they are £7.99 each, they are so soft, sheer and you don't even get that much product. They are so easy to break, and go down really quickly, not worth the money!

7. What are your best dupes?
I think the best dupes are the Maybelline colour tattoo 24hr cream eye shadows, not as much in colour, but in consistency, concept and finish etc. plus they have a massive
price difference.

8. What product isn't worth the hype?
I think that blistex intensive moisturiser lip balms are useless, I don't feel as though they do anything for my lips which are very dry and that the lip balm smells funky, tastes
weird and does nothing.

Hope you enjoyed my drugstore makeup tag, leave comments of products you like, or
maybe do the tag yourself!

Max Factor Max Effect Gloss Cube Review

Howdy!

Today I am going to be reviewing something I included in my "I <3 drugstore makeup tag" as the most disappointing drugstore product. The Max Factor Max Effect Gloss Cube, I bought this with very high expectations, I had heard alot of good press about the brand and I wanted a new lip gloss, I saw these in Boots and could not resist. It was 5.99 and I bought 01 Soft Rose. Which is just a soft pink, but not a baby pink or a bright pink. I liked the packaging although it did seem a little sparse and small.

When I finally tried this out I was hugely disappointed becuase, the smell was very strong and although I am ot usually senstive to scents of lip products, but this one really irritated my nostrils. It has a very basic applicator and doesn't apply evenly or neatly. This product had no colour pay off and didn't show up the colour in the cube at all. It looked like a clear boss, but it didn't have much shine or glossy look like you would expect with a lip gloss. It felt very sticky, tacky and tasted disgusting.

If you have tried the Max Factor Gloss Cubes's tell me your opinion and if you would agree or disagree with me. Also please tell me products you would like me to review and try out.

Topshop Lipstick Review

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posts recently my internet has been really bad! :(

Today I will be reviewing the Topshop velvet finish lipstick in Pillow Talk. I bought this on an absolute whim. I personally enjoy wearing subtle lip colours or more toned down bright colours most days, but most topshop lip colours are too bright for me, but i have wanted one for so long. This is a light pink with slight bright tones and looks very pastelly on the lips. Plus the packaging is really cute!

The packaging is very cute and the colour pay off and pigmentation is beautiful. However, the formulation can be a bit drying, settle into cracks and leave a line around the inside of the mouth but with plently of blending and lip balm it looks amazing. I think that this colour is the perfect lipstick for transitioning from Spring into Summer, because, although it is slightly brighter than I would want for day to day, but it also has a high element of pastel whick leaves the most beautiful, simple but also put together look to your lips! These lip sticks retail for 8.00 pounds and are a bargain. The darker colours are very pigmented and the range of lipsticks in Topshop are always on trend and will suit many people and skin tones.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

Howdy,
welcome to Popbeauty, today I will be reviewing the Maybelline 24hr colour tattoos, I recently picked this up from my boots along with some other bits from Maybelline, because of a cheeky offer;) I got 35 on and on bronze, this is a beautiful metallically bronzey brown colour, that blends and sits perfectly.
This sits perfectly on the eye, blends amazingly, can either be used to make a natural, but done up eye look, and blended to make a smokey dramatic eye. Application is easy pigmentation is perfect and the staying power is a really long time, possibly even 24 hours, but I don't normally wear make up that long;)

These cost £4.99, they don't come in the widest range of colour, and not are as wearable for someone like me who sticks to boring browns, but I really hope they bring out more wearable shades in the UK. And I am really hoping to get Eternal Gold soon! If you have tried it and liked it please share your thoughts with me! :)

They apply as a really lovely light, pigmented, pretty colour, they are easy to blend and great to use for a smokey eye or just and everyday basic look and they do last a very long time!

I hope you enjoyed this review and I will be back soon, tell me your opinions on these cream shadows or if you have any other recommendations of products you think I should try or you'd like me to review!
